Notes From The Road

Cryptic Moth took its time traveling from Oregon to Nebraska. And we are glad we did.

Some of the scenic broll from Idaho included scorched forests, deep chasms, and desolate roads.

When we hit the Rockies in southern Wyoming, we decided to hole up in a mountain cabin and get some much needed rest. (Amazing how taxing sitting in a car can be!)

We spent the first day visiting Old Faithful and other tourist hotspots.

Then Cryptic Moth humped the camera gear 10 miles into the bear-infested mountains.

While we didn't take many scenics, the exercise alone made the hike worth it.

By Monday (Labor Day) we were on the straightaways of the Nebraska prairie.

The plan was to visit the largest PLA bioplastic manufacturing plant in the world. Months of preparation with the Dow Cargill company, NatureWorks, fell apart only days before the assumed shoot. Without proper approval, Cryptic Moth were only able to get exteriors of the impressive operation.

Taking it all in stride, we reached a compromise to visit the NatureWorks offices in Minneapolis the following week and interview a spokesperson on the viability on bio-based resins. Not only that, Captain Moore of Alphabet Soup fame just happened to call around the same time and suggested a good replacement story in Missouri.

Nothing left to do but wash the car and - again - head south.
Out.
