The Moth Has Landed

Well rested from the holidays, Cryptic Moth has begun the momentus task of shotlisting and transcribing 300+ hours of video. It is an overwhelming endeavor. Thankfully, many kindred spirits have come forward to help.

In the meantime, Cryptic Moth needs some help from our readers. If anyone has pictures, video, news or anecdotes about plastic pollution or cool solutions to that pollution, please send them to crypticmoth@gmail.com. You will be credited fondly.

Out.

You guys are an inspiration! I've been reading your blog for a few months. I have a news compilation site all about campaigns against plastic bags - check it out at http://www.noplasticbags.blogspot.com/
There is an article near the top about this Sri Lankan guy that invented a bio wrapper out of starch (especially helpful now that plastic bags are illegal in his country). Check it out and good luck in post production.

Wow, I love your project and your energy! Here is my anecdote. Acouple of years ago my family and I decided to carry with us a picture of a beautiful field lined with trees when ever we went shoping. the purpose of this was to pull it out while shopping and immagine the object of our interrest in this field. This had a huge impact on our purchase choices. It's been maybe two years since the picture disappeared but it created a habit that we cary to this day.

I am doing research for a documentary co-production with National Geographic, and I am looking for footage of alternatives to plastics. Please email me if you have any footage or know of any. Cheers,

Hey! this is great stuff -
Recently, CitizenShift, the NFB's social documentary website did a feature on Garbage where you can watch some indy films that might be what you're looking for: http://citizen.nfb.ca ..

if you guys come up with more footage around plastic, we'd love it if you submit it to the site too!

good luck!
